  • Oh. My. Gosh.  I LLLLOOOVVVEEEE that movie so much!  Every
time I watch it I love it more.  Just got done watching it
AGAIN...couldn't help it...it was on TV this time...favorite part is
near the end with the song "past the point of no return".
Whew...I'm sorry, but that scene is HOT.
Such a good movie...and I love that it brings my daughter to tears
too.  Is that weird? I like that she gets it.  Though I did
have to explain to her why Christine loves them both, and why Raoul
started tearing up during the No Return song. Sigh...so good.

This weekend was fairly uneventful...been on my low-carb thing now for
3 days...starting tomorrow morning, anyway...according to my friend,
this is when I start shedding the pounds.  The sooner the better,
    I say...I'm pretty sure I've successfully stayed under 20 carbs a
day...tomorrow I'm going to start writing down everything I eat with
it's carb counts...I've been just keeping a running total in my head,
but those things with less than 1 carb I haven't been counting at
all...so technically I could have gone well over 20...hope not, though.
I really want an orange.  I'm staring up at those yummy, juicy
oranges in the fruit basket and just drooling.  And earlier today,
my new neighbors (bless their hearts) brought me a loaf of warm
zucchini bread fresh from their oven.  Zucchini bread.  I
love zuchinni bread. Did I mention it was still warm?  And good
smelling?  But, I'm strong, and I haven't even taken a
nibble...but boy do I want to....I told my hubby to take it into work
with him tonight...it's still sitting there.  I can't just throw
it out, she thought to make it for me.  I'll be OK...I need to buy
some of those pee sticks...my friend says that's how I'll know things
are how they're supposed to be weight loss wise.  I WANT TO BE
SKINNY AGAIN!!!  (or at least healthy looking!)  I must say
this is the weirdest diet I've been on, though.  No oranges, but I
can have sausage.  I don't like sausage.  I like
    oranges.  I want an orange.

That's about it...can't get my mind off of stuffing my mouth with
something...I should go to bed now. And all those with their minds in
the gutter, get it out...I'm talking about food.

    Dieter's Psalm

    Strict is my diet.
    I must not want.
It maketh me to lie down at night hungry.
It leadeth me past the confectioners.
    It trieth my willpower.
It leadeth me in the paths of alteration
          for my figure's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the aisles
of the pastry department, I will
buy no sweetrolls for they are
          fattening.
The cakes and the pies, they tempt me.
Before me is a table set with green beans
          and lettuce.
I filleth my stomach with liquids,
    My day's quota runneth over.
Surely calorie and weight charts will
follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the fear of scales forever.

  • Oh I agree.  This is the best movie.  So sad.  I have tickets for the stage version in March.  I am already excited.  Thanks for the comments.  I suspect looking back that he liked me.  LOL

Hope you have a good day.

  • Oh hun, good luck with the diet.. I have 50 lbs to go, and they don't want to leave..lol I have lost 143, with me taking all the white stuff away, and riding a stationary bike 3 times a day. took 3 years though. I hope you can accomplish this, oh and the pee stick just measures the keytones.. diabetics use these when they are sick..lol

RYC: She is starting homeschooling , her last day will be this friday.. the education value and being safe, and so forth. Plus her health, we can get control over.

Take care hun, and have a good day..

  • RYC: ROFLOL -- yes, must be a freudian slip. As for your dieting dilemnas...l good work, keep it up. Low carb didn't work for me... I think because I love fat -- have to do low fat. Good luck though! Love the quote and the psalm... very funny <laughs>.

  • I'm attempting to lose weight too, at least thirty pounds. I just keep putting off the start date. Today I am going to purchase a exercize mat.I did the low carb thing and yes I lost wieght but hated it and then it came to a complete stand still. Then when I started eating alittle noraml again it all came back plus some. I want to figure out how to lose the weight by eating smaller portions and eating healthy foods. My problem is eating after 7 p.m. ANd my other big problem is potato chips!Have a great day and good luck to you!  Sherri

  • Have an Orange!!!!!!! Ok what does RYC: stand for anyway ...i know it has somsething to do with a reponce but i can't figure it out and it's driving me nuts!!!!!! help meeeeeeee!  Ok but seriosly what does it mean.

Um ya the pay now that I am getting it is better but not that great I don't understand mans need to play with guns and stuff.  just goes to prove they never outgrow cowboys and indians......cops and robbers, GI joe you get the point.

  • I saw Phantom of the Opera at Radio City Music Hall years ago. I would love to see it again. My boyfriend laughs cause I have the 2 set tape of it and listen to it in my car. I love singing to it too. Good luck on your weight loss. It will happen if you put your mind to it.

  • Good luck with the weight thing.  I've been watching what I eat.  It's still not as healthy as it should be, but I'm getting there...a little at a time.  I did buy some sugar free ice cream.  It's ok.  That was the only sweet thing I bought, so maybe it will help.  There is a whole bag of oreo's in the pantry screaming at me...but I've had to put cotton in my ears so I don't hear them...the kids better eat them fast!  ryc:  Yeah, I'm in a MUCH better mood.  Can even think a little clearer!

  • So far I've lost about 25-30 pounds doing the lower carb diet...Like I have on one of my posts...it's not really a diet that I do, it's more of being carb concious.  I still would eat that orange!  It's still healthy and packed with vitamin C...wouldn't want you to catch a cold so that's your excuse, you need the vitamin C, LOL.  I love potatoes and bread and pasta so a NO carb diet would be out for me.  About the carb diet coming to a weightloss stand still, YES I did hit a point where nothing was happening, and I did go back to eating whatever for a while (still kept in mind how much I was eating though) and I did gain about 6 of the pounds back over the Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Years season.  But I think it's just your body gets used to it and without exercise (which is my major hang up, too darn lazy) you stop losing the weight.  But I'm back on my carb concious thingy again, hope I can at least kick the HOLIDAY 6 soon, LOL.  Just do small stuff...it all will help.  Make a list of everything you put into your mouth in a day, you might be shocked, I sure was!  Anyways, thanks for the comments on my site and good luck with the diet.

  • RYC...response to your comment!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes thanks!!!!!!!!!

    ELaine :o )

  • You are too funny.  I just read your statement at the top.  I am still laughing.  But then the first day of the post Christmas diet and food is always on my mind.  LOL

Thanks for the kind comments.  I like that one also.

    Kat

  • Good luck with that!

Oranges and stuff like that are pretty good for you. It's important to cut things like white bread and potatoes and white rice.

  • Phantom of the Opera was the first Broadway play that I ever saw. My parents told me that they had bought tickets, and all I could envision was a PBS opera. I was certain that they were going to be singing to one another in some foreign language. We had tickets for front row center! I'll remember it forever - the movie was awesome as well.

  • Hey you!! The CD is great too!!

Hang in there on the diet though..it is well worth it. I remember when my friend Sunny and I started doing the Atkins diet..she was all like..I am not doing that...she saw me two weeks later, looks me up and down and asks "How do I do this diet?" She lost 40+ lbs and looks fabulous now...you would never have guessed she ever had 40+ extra lbs before.

It does suck....but you can do it girl!! *hugs*
